Digital Marketing Fundamentals Reflections
Digital marketing fundamentals offered through Full Sail University with Mrs. Maria Ferguson has been such an impactful class.
Through intensive readings, hands-on projects, then engaging discussions-this class expanded my knowlege through the teachings of a wonderful professor. The biggest growth opportunity this far has definitely been the analysis of a company I got to pick in preperation for the ultimate final degree assignment—a digital marketing plan. This class moved fast from: markting concepts, search engiene marketing, traffic strategies, social media, email, affiliate marketing, then creation of our portfoio. What you are left with? Lots to reflect on.
When it came to getting ready for the digital marketing plan my deep analysis led me to pick an agency called Kelston Marketing in Southlake, TX. I fell in love with the one in particular becuase of location, the small work setting and their use of travel as a theme. started to analyze the agency by first looking at SWOT. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats in the industry) You can see in the table here:

After analyizing SWOT I dug into PESTEL analysis. (Politial, Economic, Social, Technological, Enviromental and Legal analysis.) Through this analysis I was better able to understand the extrnal forces that could impact the company. You can see a deep dive here:

I learned a lot through this class. We even did a reptation management excercise to prevent a crisis from happening. This class set the stage for future marketing classes and I am thankful for everything I have learned. This eleven page analyisis really shows a reflection of how deep we digged into our competitors ans how our company differenciates themselves:

This course touched on things I have dipped my toes into but really took it further. An example of that would be looking at retargeting. Seeing how companies like Amazon retarget advertisements to us through our devices, (even Alexa talking to us,) websites we frequent as well as side bar reminders. They even take it a step further by letting you choose to buy a Kindle FIre with Ads for a cheaper price or one without for more. It was interesing to dig into this. We even got to cover Ai, prompt engieering, and how it impacts us as humans.
As far as what else to there is to learn? Definitely paid advertising. I cannot wait until we really dig into that within the program. Full Sail University has really turned out to be a great school with amazing professors and I cannot wait to see where this leads me!
